NADRA lauched Mobile Biometric Application

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched Nadra’s Pak-ID mobile application to facilitate Pakistanis for National Overseas ID card processing.
The mobile app helps capture biometrics and scan documents digitally by using the camera of smartphones.

Deadline for redemption of National Prize Bonds

Government of Pakistan has extended the last date for encashment or conversion of Rs 15,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 40,000 (unregistered) denomination prize bonds up to September 30, 2021 to facilitate the general public.
The last date for encashment or conversion of Rs 15,000 denomination was June 30, 2021, while, May 31, 2021 was for Rs. 25,000 and Rs 40,000 denomination prize bonds.

Canada includes Pakistani international students in its fast track visa program

Ottawa, July 27, 2019,
Raza Bashir Tarar, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada welcomed the decision of the Canadian government for inclusion of Pakistani international students into the Students Direct Stream (SDS) Program. Under the program the international students after fulfilling the requirements can get student visa to Canada in 20 days. It will facilitate pakistani students who desire to study in Canada.
Last year, the Canadain government started this program for students from India, China, Philippines and Vietnam. Today, Pakistan has been included in the list of countries, under the SDS program by the Canadian Imigration Department.
High Commissioner Tarar appreciated the good will gesture of Canadian government and expressed gratitude to the special efforts of immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen and the members of the Canadian Parliament for fulfilling their committment.
It may be mentioned that the High Commissioner in his meetings with the Canadian officials had urged them to include Pakistani students in the SDS program as academically Pakistani students are second to none.

Pakistan Banao Certificates (PBC) is a sovereign US Dollar denominated retail level instrument, for Pakistanis having bank accounts overseas. The PBC is the first sovereign retail instrument being offered by Government of Pakistan (GoP) that allows overseas Pakistanis to contribute in their country’s development and earn handsome returns. The PBCs are available for 3 years and 5 years maturity with profit rates of 6.25 percent and 6.75 percent per annum respectively payable semiannually.
